#103 -- Finding My Perfume Scent

Image
When I was in high school, I bought my first perfume. It was Celine Dion, and I wore it to community college for my dual enrollment classes. I remember feeling so grown up and special wearing that scent on my wrists. In college I began wearing amber, but the perfume company discontinued my perfume, and I looked and looked for a similar scent with no success. For about 8 years I didn't wear perfume at all. This week I went shopping for a perfume for the first time in years. I still love the scent of amber, and would still like to find a good amber perfume to wear sometimes, but at this point I wanted to find a light scent to wear for summertime. I found this orange blossom perfume at Old Navy, and loved the playful citrus scent right away. It feels so great to have my own scent again! :) I figure that I'll wear orange blossom in spring and summer, and look for an amber perfume to wear in fall and winter (the cozy months). I'm excited to be making my goals happen! :)

#2 -- Getting a Henna Tattoo

Image
I've always wanted to get a temporary tattoo, but always put it off or decided against it. I decided it is TIME to do it, and I'm going to do it now! Two weeks ago I ordered a henna tattoo kit and applied them myself. Here are the results: I love they way they turned out, and it made me seriously consider getting a permanent tattoo. Maybe another day I will!

#46 -- Designing My Own Stationery

Image
#46 on my bucket list is to design my own personalized stationery. Using Canva, a free design website, I completed this goal today! Here are the results--some borders I created:   “Do not wait; the time will never be ‘just right.’ Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.” — Napoleon Hill

2018 Goals

Image
I'm so excited to start branching out and seeking out adventures! To start my bucket list, I made a list of what activities I'm going to cover in 2018. Here's my list for 2018: Dye a strand of hair red Get a henna tattoo Hold a baby alligator Start learning photography Start writing songs for piano Create a cottage garden Start running I've downloaded a free ebook about photography, and ordered a charger cord for our digital camera. While waiting for that to come, I got excited and took my iPad out to the yard to take a few beginner photos. Here are the results: As for starting a cottage flower garden, I dug up a 12 x 12 piece of my lawn in the backyard and planted several Florida-friendly flowers. I added a mini picket fence border, two young jasmine vines, and a lima bean vine. In the front yard, I'm starting a rose garden. Pictures soon to follow. I've started a couple of piano songs that I need to finish composing and polishing. H...

My Bucket List

“In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take, the relationships we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make.” -Lewis Carroll Let me give you a little background for this blog. All my life I have been timid, afraid of taking chances, and generally a generic, bland person. It took getting married, having two kids, and reaching my late twenties for me to wake up. I realized that I did not want to live an uneventful life. I wanted to live my life to the fullest before I was too sick or too old to enjoy it. So I wrote a five-page bucket list.  I decided that if I wanted to have adventures, I needed to just make that happen--right now, not someday. So here's my bucket list! Cool Random Stuff Dye some strands of my hair dark red Get a henna tattoo Hold a snake or a baby alligator Go on a roller coaster Learn how to shoot a gun Indoor skydive Explore my ancestry and create a family tree Sleep in a ...
